The Bridge
The Bridge, the centerpiece of the parish outreach program began in 2004, thanks to a $5,000 grant received from the Lyle F. Renodin Foundation, affiliated with the Sisters of St. Francis of Allegany. The thrift store, so named, tries to bridge the gap between those in our community who need help and those that can provide that help. Residents of Cattaraugus County may receive help with rent, evictions, utility shut-offs, temporary shelter, medical and travel needs.
All items in the store are donated by the community. It offers clothing from infant to adult, books, linens, dishes and glassware, small toys, household and decorative items.
Lois McLaughlin and Shirley Papasergi, assistant mangers and over 40 volunteers are the heart of The Bridge, reflected in the time and effort they give so selflessly.
