GOAL III: TO ENCOURAGE ALL THE BAPTIZED TO SHARE THEIR GIFTS.
Our SERVICE to others is an essential ingredient of the mission of every baptized person. Jesus calls us as a parish to serve our brothers and sisters. Whatever concrete form this service takes, it is always done in the name of and with the blessing of the whole parish. The entire parish strives to be supportive of the three areas of direct service, advocacy and education. The Outreach Coordinator takes responsibility for guiding the parish to achieve the following objectives:

Objective 1: To affirm and strengthen the many efforts of our parish members to offer their time, talent and treasure in demonstrating concern for the poor and needy of our local community and beyond. To insure that every effort of our service includes three dimensions: hands-on service, advocacy and education.
a) GOAC Involvement b) Bridge Volunteers c) Thanksgiving Baskets/Giving Tree d) Immersion Trips to St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy

Objective 2: To expand our horizons by raising consciousness about Christian attitudes and responses to the global issues of peace and justice by working in cooperation with St. Bonaventure University’s Franciscan Center for Social Concerns as well as other groups.
a) Walk for Hunger Relief Coordinator b) Stand up for Peace (Thursdays) c) Furniture Pick-up & Bona Respond

Objective 3: To reaffirm and strengthen our commitment to the needs of the poor and homeless through our Bridge ministry, the international support of St. Augustine in Guatemala and connection with St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy. Along with support of providing food, clothing and furniture, we encourage parishioners to participate in the service we provide for the needy by financial assistance, donations, and volunteering, especially to the Warming House and Genesis House.
a) Genesis House b) Warming House c) Cake Project for Guatemala

Objective 4: To create a vital link with the Franciscan friars of Holy Name Province’s Committee for Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation by using them as a resource of information. To collaborate with other churches and social service agencies in the area by working together in common areas of social outreach and advocacy.
a) Grant Writing b) HNP Workshops c) Franciscan Peacemaking Namaste
