GOAL III: TO ENCOURAGE ALL THE BAPTIZED TO SHARE THEIR GIFTS

Our SERVICE to others is an essential ingredient of the mission of every baptized person. Jesus calls us as a parish to serve our brothers and sisters. Whatever concrete form this service takes, it is always done in the name of and with the blessing of the whole parish. The entire parish strives to be supportive of the three areas of direct service, advocacy and education. The Outreach Coordinator takes responsibility for guiding the parish to achieve the following objectives:
Objective 1: To insure that every effort of our service includes hands-on-service, advocacy and education
  1. Matching talents of new parishioners
  2. Yearly blessing of Service volunteers
  3. Walk for Hunger Relief Coordinator
Objective 2: To raise consciousness of Christian opportunities for peacemaking.
  1. Stand for Peace
  2. Youth conflict resolution
  3. Death Penalty List
Objective 3: To strengthen our commitment to the needs of the poor.
  1. Service Volunteers
  2. Granrt Writing
  3. HNP Workshops
Objective 4: To collaborate with other churches and social agencies in our outreach.
  1. Service trip to Lima, Peru
  2. GOAC Representation
     c. SBU Franciscan Center for Social Concerns
Objective 5: Publicity
